Buchu, Dandelion Root, Cleavers and Uva Ursi. Buchu is used internally for the relief of urinary tract infections, especially in conjunction with prostate problems. Buchu decreases inflammation of the colon, gums, and mucous membranes and is specifically used to treat bladder infections. Cleavers, also known as Goose Grass, may be helpful in the treatment of cystitis and other urinary conditions where there is pain, Dandelion is good for the bladder, spleen, pancreas, stomach and intestines. It's recommended for stressed-out, internally sluggish, and sedentary people. Uva ursi (Arctostaphylos uva ursi), also known as bearberry, has a history of medicinal use dating back to the 2nd century. Native Americans used it as a remedy for urinary tract infections. During urination, as it passes out of the body, it acts on the mucus membranes of the urinary tract to soothe irritation, reduce inflammation, and fight infection.
